We have tried loads of coffee and the one we like best is the Italian blend from Aldi. We think it is £1.89. Saintsbury's do a vanilla syrup and is between 2 &3 pounds but lasts a while. We always drink filter now... Can't stand instant.0

I like the lidl one when it's on offer, £2.49 or £2.29 for 2 250g packs.
It's really quite nice, comes around every few months or so.
I also like the cafe blend rich roast one from Tesco, £1.79 for 2500 quite a dark strong coffee, but it suits me.0 -
you really need fresh beans then grind them yourself, I think preground coffee can taste worse than a good instant coffee, I love coffee too but enjoy Carte Noire better than a supermarket preground coffee, use coffee mate or single cream and it tastes very acceptable.
But as said, if you grind your own then you do get the best tasting coffee, buy a hand grinder then start buying whole beans from places like hasbean, yes at £5-£6 for a bag is about twice the price of shop bought but the two do not compare, and if you want they will grind it for you, but it is better if you can do that yourself.
I would say a quality coffee that costs a bit more will be far better than a load of average tasting coffee, I would rather have 1 great cup of coffee a day than 3 not that great tasting.0
