Faulty goods - refund of credit card handling fee?

Can anyone give me advice on the following:
I was recently silly enough to buy an Italian range cooker that arrived faulty. The retailer reluctantly agreed to take the item back and give a full refund without delay. Two weeks after the company had the faulty cooker collected I am still waiting for a refund but have been advised that a 'cheque is in the post'. From an email that I received today it would appear that the company does not intend to refund the credit card handling fee of £32 that they charged me when I purchased the cooker (over the telephone).
It seems unfair that I should be even more out-of-pocket than I already am. It is not my fault that the cooker didn't work; I have had to buy another cooker without yet receiving a refund from original retailer; I have had to buy a microwave as a temporary measure; I have had to pay for two connection charges for the cooker. This is without going into the stress of trying to get a refund and of not having a functioning cooker over Christmas.
In short, am I entitled to the full cost back, including the handling fee. Advice appreciated.

Yes you are entitled. As it was faulty, you must be put back in the same position as if you never bought it. That includes ALL charges. Postage, credit card etcOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
