cant see the ps3 selling out on release day - not many people under 25 will have an extra £500 about to buy it.0

you're parents must be proud... What you're doing isn't supply and demand...it accounts to near extortion. There's always so much pressure on parents to get children the latest things and people like you make the idea of money saving an almost non-entity.
Go ahead, buy a few...from what I hear the consoles should meet demand on launch day because there'll be less demand because of it's bigger price tag. The only people who will probably buy this console from launch are 20-30 year old working class people with no intention of paying the ridiculous markups you hope to make on ebay. I sincerely hope you lose on them to bring you down a peg.0 -
from my own experience everyone who was waiting for the PS£ bought a 360 when the date got delayed, now most are unwilling to spend the money on something almost the same (and in most reviews not as good)0

So, as you are clearly the next Richard Branson....why ask amateurs like us what we think?
PS It's actually A LOT - 2 separate words. I hope your entrepreneurial activities are not interfering with your school work too much. :rolleyes:0 -

Well actually it can also be alot - here's a definition: a dead metaphor, dull when spelled correctly, worse when misspelled alot. Passable in conversation as a substitute for much or many, it is better avoided in writing.0 -
I overheard somebody asking about the PS3 in Game and i nearly collapsed when i heard that the games are going to be around £60.00.
The serious fans of the Playstation will either get one on the release date or have an imported unit but if the situtation in America is anything to go by, these units will be gathering dust in the back store. The average person is not willing the pay the high price tag put on the machines.
Better Value bundles of the Xbox 360 are already appearing at a significant lower cost and the nintendo WII is out selling the PS3 by 3:1.
You will not make any profit on these units, and will either get your money back, or even worse make a loss. Why buy a £425.00 unit off you with and additional £15.00 postage, when i can walk into my local game and buy one for £425.00 or get free delivery online.
Or even better, walk into my local game... Buy an Xbox 360 AND a Nintendo WII and still have some money left over for a Hampsons meat and potato pasty
Also to put things into perspective, the PS2 has out sold the PS3 in the past 3 weeks0 -
Just wanted to say - I find it a bit strange that everyone is being so critical of the OP for buying a PS3 to sell on ebay. Can remember quite a few people on here buying multiple elmos to sell on for profit without getting such criticism. I can't see the difference.0

Firstly, whoever you heard that off in Game is talking utter tosh! Games are going to be priced between £35-£50, most of them at the moment are either £44.99 or £49.99 but there are a few websites where they can be bought for cheaper. I think maybe play! Another point that is not strictly true is the fact that the PS3 is 'gathering dust' on every American shelf. There are certainly some states which do have PS3's sitting on shelves, but for the majority, they still cannot be bought with ease. Mere fan boy anti-sony propaganda! I'm afraid I cant comment on the Meat and potato pasty, but sounds nice!
Oh and is it any wonder the PS2 is outselling the PS3? Its cheaper, has a phenominal back catalogue and is still producing fantastic games up to this day, so is the obvious choice! This surely cannot be seen as a refelction on how bad the PS3 is, but only as to how popular the Sony brand is, given impressions as to how well the PS3 will do once the games start picking up on it!
I agree though with dobazi, it would make more sense to walk into a store and pick one up, or pre-order one now! most places still have an allocation, and people should receive them by launch! I hope the ebay sellers do end up with egg on their faces, but only time will tell.
On another point, I also agree with daveyJay1 re: the selling of TMX Elmos on here in the run up to Christmas. People thought it would be a great idea to buy as many as they could and sell them for a higher price on ebay, and everyone thought that was a great idea! It seems there are double standards on this site. Its either acceptable, or its not!0
