Annual Kwh

I'm checking out deals as my contract is up for renewal. Upon checking I see that my annual consumption is 24,000kwh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am ALL electric , but even so do not use this amount. I need advice on where to start? I've written to my supplier to start the ball rolling but would like to know if I can (and how) to check where it's all being used!!
HELP!

Go and read your meter now.
Does the reading roughly match with the bill?

Read it again tomorrow - what's the difference.
    Multiply this figure by 365.

    Are you on economy 7?
    Do you have storage heaters?

Why do you think you don't use that amount?

24kWh of electricity is 7.2 times the national average of 3,300kWh.
That is using 65kWh every day, or 2.73kWh an hour, 24/7/365, and would be the equivalent of effectively running two electric fires at 1KWh output each on top of everything else and continuing with this arrangement at all hours of the day.

Firstly, check your meter against the bill, as rogerblack suggests.
Then take daily meter readings for a while to find out on average how much you use in that period.

    the national average of 3,300kWh.

But that is for a house with gas CH.

    The OP is all electric.

24,000kWh is perfectly possible with an all-electric house running E7.
What perhaps matters more is your peak and off-peak split, so post your actual kWh figures.
It is assumed that you are on E7 with storage heaters. If not, you should be, as your bill will be circa £2,400pa!

You could then say they were running 4 electric fires for 180 days...then you could say they were running 8 electric fires for 180 days for 12 hours per day......then you could say they were storing 115kWh of heat each night for 180 days. That could easily be done with 6 medium 2.55kW storage heaters and a duel immersion heater heating 240 litres of water each night throughout the year (from cool-i.e they are 5 people and use it all every day). How many radiators does an average gas centrally heated house have? It is high but it is certainly possible.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

    Welcome to the forum!

Do you have a tiny 1 bed flat living on your own, or a 10 bed mansion with a dozen occupants? It does make a difference;)

The average consumption in UK is 16,500kWh gas and 3,300kWh electricity. Given gas is not as efficient as electricity, that would probably mean around 18,000kWh for an all electric property.

So your estimated consumption is about a third more than average.

In any case if you don't use 24,000kWh, you won't pay for 24,000kWh so what is the problem?
