Pipe reducer question
domino
I need to replace the waste pipe from the kitchen sink. The problem is the new pipe is plastic and is 41mm and the old one I have to connect to is 55m copper. I can't seem to find anything to connect the two. The reducers I have been looking at online are not coming near the 55mm I need. Anyone have any ideas how to get round this problem?

The only advice I can give is to go to a specialist plumbers merchants like Plumb Center, Grahams etc because they sell all sorts of stuff that the DIY stores don't.
They are usually as cheap, or cheaper than them too, and can advise on the best thing for your needs.
If poss, take the parts with you so they know what you are on about.

If your unable to find anything, there is a fitting that has two jubilee clips and looks like a section of thick rubber inner-tube....

Hi
Go here, go to product catalogue, the fitting you want is a ST28M http://www.mcalpineplumbing.com/
They work for me.

You can get the pressure fit reducing connectors in B&Q just make sure you get the right size! and then you need to have a metal insert for your plastic pipe which acts like an olive. You can get them from from the screwfix website or specialised local merchants but I wouldn't know where else to suggest.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
