have partner due to be wife but 3rd child due august so now its 2008. Oldest 5 next 15 months and new one due. non smoker and was thinking of 400k (4 x 100) and OH suggested 30 yrs min as will be difficult to get as i get older, now 34. Also she wants new assurance as has 50k for £5pm at mo she is 33. She has one medical condition not serious and I asthma. It does not seem you have to declare any condition on these quick quotes is that correct? will they then load it on at signing. Also had full medical recently ecg the works, that how the local GPs earn the 250K wages and had a clean bill of health, heart cholesterol the lot. Should this help if i supply the info? mortgage around the 50K mark no other debts house now worth over 250

  • It does not seem you have to declare any condition on these quick quotes is that correct?
Correct, but when it comes to making an application you will be asked for full medical details
will they then load it on at signing
It depends how serious the condition is, asthma should be ok

Useful background info but the ins co wont rely on it. If they want this kind of info they will arrange for it themselves
should i look to index link it?
Its worth considering as each year the real value of £400k will reduce due to inflation. However each year that you live the £400k will have to last for a year less so one could offset the other.
what is the advice on type of cover amount term and best company.
term seems fine, more infomation is needed to comment on amount as it depends on your individual circumstances.

You should seek advice...you should consider trusts, Family Income Benefit as an alternative, waiver of premium and more...only an IFA can help you with all this.
