Parquet Floor - Stuff to lay it with wanted

I think I'm going to need a bitumin product ( because some old bitumin on back of pieces as reclaimed ) but nothing decided yet. I saw some stuff in B&Q for laying parquet but it was £15 ( I think ) for a tiny tin. I'm not sure how much I'll need but it's a large area - the tin I saw might do a corner !! Any idea's out there ? And it might be 5 - 10 litres so I need larger quantities than itty bitty tins. Thanks.

thats the stuff alright - you may also need a self levelling compound to go down pre-bitumen depending on the surface your laying on. In addition all previous bitumin on the flooring must be removed. Easy to see why having this done professionally is such an expense.0

The floor will hopefully be fine. I've gone back to the floorboards, then a couple of layers of acoustic underlay ( soundproofing cos flat ) then hardboard. The parquet will be laid on the new clean hardboard;
I was told I could lay the parquet pieces without cleaning the old bitumin off, as long as I used a bitumin product again,
I just assumed there must be somewhere I could order a larger cheaper quantity.0 -
When you use second hand wood there will be varying amounts of adhesive on the back making it more difficult to get the surface flat so you may have to hire a floor sander to get the surface flat again. Do you have any specialist flooring layers near that would sell you some adhesive ..when I laid my floor although the stuff looked like bitumen it could be washed off water b4 it had dried..

Well what's on the back of the pieces is a very thin coating, and some of it is clean. No lumps at all. I'll be hiring a floor sander anyway once floor is laid to make it level and prepare for the finish. What kind of specialish shops would you recommend ? We've only got builders merchanys like Jewson and Travis Perkins around us or the obligatory DIY stores like B&Q, Homebase etc. I wouldn't mind ordering the stuff from an online supplier and getting it delivered if anyone could recommend one, or recommend a good product.0
