How do banks / financial institutions verify who you are - and how to improve chances

Just for the record, I've written a letter to each of my bank accounts / financial institutions and requested they change my name from Alison D. Jones to just Alison Jones (for example).
Hopefully this should make things easier in the future. it certainly can't make opening accounts any more hassle, can it?! :rotfl:

Kind of wanted to fix the potential issue at source... and this way I get to remove my middle name from future cards too
Also I don't really know how to do that, it was just a postal statutory report we got before.. not an online access or anything (I know, from browsing the credit card forum, some folk do this monitoring on an on-going basis).
Meer53... didn't realise that would be an issue? Interesting to know though.:)0 -

Here here right painCan I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0
