Will a wireless keyboard work with any wireless mouse?

Hello - I'm about to buy a new wireless keyboard for my computer and like the look of the Microsoft Arc Keyboard but not as keen on the mouse that goes with it (or the price!).....
If I get a wireless keyboard with USB connector will it work with any 'over the counter' wireless mouse?
Am assuming I'd have to use separate USB for each? Would this work or would it cause them to interfere with each other? Or would it be better to buy a keyboard/mouse combo as I did before?
Help and thanks!

Probably not, ive even got 2 Logitec wireless combos which are not interchangable. Logitec MK320 available from John Lewis about £18, They shouldn't interfere with each other, it just means you need 2 USB ports.0

I have a Bush cordless mouse & a tiny usb connector (hard to believe how it works as so small)
Also I have a Logitech wireless keyboard & mouse that work off a single usb corded receiver.
I don't believe they are interchangeable0 -
I've just tried this out and it didn't work.
I have two wireless receivers attached with two mice - batteries died on one, and not having spare battereis at the time I just plugged in another one.
Well, I just for this test, removed the receiver for the mouse I'm currently using, and tried to connect to the other receiver - no joy.
Maybe it might work if I replaced like-for-like, but I probably wouldn't want to take the risk.0 -
Short answer is no. Each wireless part has its own signal & the receivers are different for each unless specifically paired such as mouse/keyboard combinations.
We had a brilliant & comfortable rechargeable wireless mouse where the receiver went wrong & no replacement receiver could be found. Got a free replacement mouse from Logitech but not quite as good as it is not rechargeable.Truth always poses doubts & questions. I believe Logitech now use unifying software for their latest products - saves having loads of different receivers. http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/349/61270

In the test above, both mouse/receiver sets were Logitech, so while this might apply to their new stuff, it doesn't with the old.0 -

That's correct, that's why I said Logitech now use unifying software. I have a brilliant older Logitech mouse and keyboard but if one part was to fail then it would mean buying a replacement make and yet another receiver, or a Logitech combo with the latest software.0 -
Different parts will not argue or cause problems. Otherwise things would not be promoted as wireless, such as printers!Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

I'm using a Logitech keyboard/mouse, if i plug in the receiver for my Microsoft keyboard/mouse i can then use whichever keyboard and mouse i want without any problem, should also work fine with any make.0

You may be lucky if using the same wireless channel (not changeable) - however if the OP took your advice, it would be a lottery - even old Logitech wireless kits don't work with one another. Buyer beware comes to mind?0
