...ok,apologies for the title descripton but its a bit of a strange one.
The lights in my kitchen and downstairs cloakroom seem to 'pulsate' when switched on (or flicker)when they're on seperately or together...

Any ideas what could be at fault here..?

Thanks as usual

  • My hall lights do the same thing when switched off but only since I started using energy saving bulbs. I would also like to know what causes this flickering.

If you have many energy saving compact fluorescent (CFL) lamps or one faulty one, it can cause lights to flicker.

If there are shared neutrals in your lighting circuit, a single faulty or many CFLs lamps may cause the whole lot on another lighting circuit to flicker.

Do you have many CFLs installed?

Initially, try removing each lamp and replacing individually until you find the problematic one?
