My Scottish Power Online Energy Saver 13 is due to run out on 29th February. Been with SP for a few years and have been very happy, but always checking to see if I'm paying too much.
Tried a couple of comparison sites such as the energy shop and both came back and said I could save £160 by switching to First Utility. Not sure how the comparison site work this out, because in a months time, I revert to SP standard DD unless I do something else.
Anyway, went direct to First Utilities site and put exactly the same annual KWh readings in on the same Tarrif, and was shocked to find that their site directly stated I would be paying about £400 MORE per year. Whats going on here?
I might have given them a chance, perhaps until I did a google search for "First Utility review". This site has made my mind up to look elsewhere.
google search "trustpilot first utility". 95% bad reviews over the past year.
I still can believe the ombudsman hasn't got a grip of energy companies, as so many make it really hard to see eactly what the cost is. Glad that SP send me an email today, with all costs, options and annual KWh spelt out in detail. Guess I might stay and start up one of their other annual discount offers.
