I had a Rover SD1, at 140 mph it used over a pint a minute.

    metric please....

Assuming UK gallons/pints that would be 0.0139383177 litres

    or 14ml right?

How did you work it out? It just confuses me.

    5.435 hours per gallon
    0.184 gallons per hour
    0.00307 gallons per minute
    0.014 l per min
    = 14 ml per minute

    I'm too old for metric

    125mpg, at 23 mph, it'll take 5.43 hours to drive 125 miles.

That's 326 minutes to use 1 gallon of petrol

1/326 equals 0.003066 gallons per minute

    8 pints to the gallon

    0.003066 x 8 equals 0.025

125 mpg equals 27.4967 miles per litre

so 23/27.4967 equals 0.8365 litres per hour

    or 0.0139 litres per minute

That's roughly how much a 2004 Punto 1.2 uses at idle then. :D
