Laptop Battery Advice Please

We have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop C650 which is 14 months old and used a great deal everyday but not for playing games or watching films.

Today I got a message "there is a problem with your battery so your computer might shut down suddenly." Also says Battery Fully Charged (100%) Consider changing your battery.

2 questions

1. I am using the laptop plugged into the mains via the charger so am I correct in thinking I will not do the laptop any harm doing this?

2. Where is there best place to buy another battery and should I opt for a Toshiba? I have search the web and found non Toshiba ones for £15 -£35 and Toshiba from £35 to £100+.

Thanks for any advice.

Going to Toshiba direct will cost you a lot more.

You can buy laptop batteries with higher capacity in the same form factor. Try buying from a reliable source and not just an auction site. The better ones will tend to have a safety circuit to protect you and the battery.

As a start, have a look at 7 Day Shop.

  • As stated if you are buying a non toshiba battery please get it from a well know supplier and not off of an auction site.

You can use your laptop just fine you only need to replace the battery if you want to use it on battery
