Pay monthly variable direct debit

Hi,

DH and I currently are with British Gas Energy Smart for both gas and electricity and submit our meter readings online each month making sure that we pay monthly for exactly what we use with variable direct debit. It varies of course in summer and winter, but at least we don't end up with massive amounts owing at the end of the year like we had on our previous property when we had fixed direct debits with Eon.

Trying to help out a friend who is moving, and they like the idea of variable direct debits and submitting the readings for gas and electricity each month.

Is anyone able to advise any companies offering this and even better post the links?

Not aware of any of the other big players doing this. I have energy smart on my electricity account but a fixed DD for gas.
With BG you can now adjust your fixed DD yourself to avoid large over/under payments.

But that cannot happen if you take regular readings (at least quarterly) and give them to your supplier-that way your fixed DD will be kept in line with your actual consumption.
