Failed online job questionnaire

most the Boots one is what would you do in this situation etcI've done tons of online numeracy tests and similar for job applications. Some of them I can say with almost 100% certainty that I aced - still got rejected.
Tests are just one thing that employers use to assess your suitability.
More likely that you were binned without being looked at.0 -
Well there are a couple, one asks 75 questions where you answer a statement with one of five answers from agree strongly to disagree strongly. One question was something like, "Most people think that it is OK to steal, how I got any of those wrong I don't know. The other was along the lines of, "if you were running late but had an urgent delivery to make would you a) forget about it and stop for lunch? b) return to base and ask someone else to do it? c) deliver it and have lunch late? How I got any of those wrong I don't know.0

different questions then to the shop work. One was something like 'I will do anything my manager tells me' and you had to strongly agree, agree, disagree or strongly disagree. I feel this can not be answered just ticking a box as it needs an explanation. I did tick 'disagree' as Boots have not allowed for the manager getting you to do something illegal!Well there are a couple, one asks 75 questions where you answer a statement with one of five answers from agree strongly to disagree strongly. Ah well I guess we'll never know.0

Some of these tests are outright nonsense, others are so-so, and some are downright sinister. Failing them implies nothing."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

I've applied for Boots before now - so many questions and there's no real feed back re right or wrong answer. As another person said, just move on to the next application . These psychometric questionnaires are annoying.0

some of these test ask questions that are so ambigous it's practically impossible to know which is the best answer to give, once out of sheer frustration (had been filling in the tests for various application for a couple of hours and getting knocked back) I randomly clicked the answers and got an invite to take the second part of the interview process (online) via email about a week later. I took the second part seriously but didn't get an interview.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to these tests.0 -
i think its always best to avoid online applications. literally thousands of people will be doing them. id get down all your local recruitment agencies, print out a load of cvs and dish them out everywhere on the way.
Note who you gave it to, get a number, follow it up. You have to be persistent!
Temp jobs are also an option. And if they are saying you are over qualified, dumb down your CV!I am not really boris..0 -
most places don't accept cv's these days, everywhere bar a handful of places I've handed in/sent my CV to have said they don't keep CV's for data protection/storage reasons and that they advertise all vacancies either on their own website or agency websites.i think its always best to avoid online applications. literally thousands of people will be doing them. id get down all your local recruitment agencies, print out a load of cvs and dish them out everywhere on the way.

The days of handing out cvs is becoming a thing of the past unless you work in a specialised area or have lots of unique qualifications/experience.0
