How do you heat water? If it's by electricity, how long is it on for. If it's a switch that's on all the time it will cost a fortune.0

That's a little high not very high just a little higher than average. What sort of electrical equipment do you use? Things that really make a large difference are heaters and dryers.
You said earlier you are paying £4.60 per day for this 14.7kWh of electricity. Your unit rate is very high. Do you know what the unit rate and the standing charges are? You should be looking at paying half of that.0 -

Do you heat your water using peak day rates rather than cheap night rates? Are you on an E7 tariff?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

1. Paying more per week does not mean your usage has gone up.
2. Stop calling them, and send all your complaints in writing from now on, and insist their replies are solely in writing.
Come back here when you have had their written reply and post a summary.0 -
I have prepayment meters gas and electric from southern electric which has no service charge although the cost is slightly higher. Am in all day have central heating [gas] which we have on for maybe 4 hrs a day.combi boiler and gas cooker. we cook 2 meals a day on cooker and we pay approx 80p a day electric and 90p a day gas. little more when I use my tumble drier. we feel better having prepayment meters because then you cannot have mistakes or arrears and have done so for several years. [although we used to get bills from British gas telling us we were in arrears every quarter until I explained we were prepayment meters so they had to cancel bills] so left them and have had no trouble with southern electric although I believe now ebico is top of league.0
