bricking up back door - single skin only?

We're having some building work done which involves sealing up a back door that leads into the garage. Apparently what's happening is that they'll brick up with a single layer of bricks on the "outside" (ie garage side), stuff loads of insulation on the internal side, then plasterboard (or board, can't remember exactly) over.
I'd appreciate any guidance on whether this is acceptable please ? Although it's a wall separating the kitchen & garage, so could be classed as internal, it feels more like it should be an external wall.

This is quite a common practice. You do the same process when you turn an attached gargae into a habitable room ie line the wall with a frame, fill with insulation and then platserboard over, It doesn't contracvene any building regs and is cost effective.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

many thanks Phil, that's put my mind at rest. Hdn't thought about the comparable process of turning a garage into a habitable room, so it makes sense that's it's similar"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510
