I actually mean (thought it would be obvious to those over 12) "can't". How can anyone who practises anything tell someone everything? They'd need to make room for a bed in the surgery so they could tell them something that came to mind a day later. Or keep in constant touch via text or Twitter.

Doctors and health care professionals can only give you some information. If you ask for more they'll give you more but they can't give you everything.

Doctors and other health professionals tell you the basics or the simple path of a diagnosis/prognosis. Google for the full information (just like they do).

Do you not understand English very well? There is no contadiction and you can spout Latin words until the cows come home but they won't change a fact.

There's the contradiction. You said I was talking "Utter nonsense" when I said professionals can't tell you everything.

How can they tell you everything? They didn't with you if you "...know more about it than my GP does".
