PPI on mortgage?

I've had a little look on the boards and found some useful info about claiming. I'm just wondering if there is a time limit? I had PPI on a mortgage, started about 1988, not sure how long the PPI was in force but the mortgage was moved to another company in 1994.

Is it too long ago to claim now? I don't have account numbers either.

Thanks in advance.

None specific to PPI but there are some potential time issues depending on where you bought the policy (i.e. pre-regulation via an adviser) and destroying of data over time.

    Nothing wrong with that.

You cant claim on the policy as it is no longer in force. You can complain but what would be your complaint reason? Given the timescale and if it was monthly payment then you are going to find it hard (remember that MPPI has far fewer upheld complaints than loan / credit card PPI for the frequently mentioned reasons). And that assumes you are not out of time or documentation hasnt been destroyed.

Sorry that wasn't clear - I meant could I reclaim the fees, not claim on the policy! I had a feeling there was nothing I could do as it was so long ago and I don't remember that much about it - but I'm sure it would have been monthly payments. Thanks.

What reason do you intend to be claiming for?
