CAN ANYONE ADVISE PLEASE..... just got my bill from NPOWER it basically says we used £230 this quarter.....does that seem excessive....we are using a prepayment meter but want to change to D/D also thinking of changing supplier

scottish power online comes up best says we can save £239 year....but i am worried about switching....

is it straight forward .... do i need to contact npower and get them to change the meter from a prepayment then switch ?

I believe it's possible to change supplier without having the meter changed
but reading about some of the problems people have with prepayment meters I'm not sure I would want to try!
If you can get the meter changed it should be easy from that point onwards yes all you would need to do is go to a switching website and off you go

and a normal (credit) meter would work out cheaper as you can get direct debit discounts and the best tariffs

Is the £230 bill right, have you checked the meter readings?

For prepayment meters you might be much better off with Ebico.
