splashbacks and upstands

Am now thinking about the walls in my new kitchen.

My choices are :-

Laminate splashback and upstand to match worktop
S/s or glass splashback behind gas hob and tiled upstand round rest including sink
Tiled splashback and upstand round rest of worktop with painted infil between upstand and top unots
Fully tiled infil and splashback.

Any advice?

We did a customers kitchen recently and she had the laminate upstand (75mm high) all the way round except at the back of the hob which was a black glass splashback with a pic of a chilli on it. Went well with the black gloss units.

I have some pics on fb, but don't want to put a link in case I'm accused of advertising.

    Depends on your budget.

A glass upstand/splashback always looks stunning, IMHO, but costs far more than other options.
