PLEASE MARTIN - make sure everyone knows about the Warm Home Discount
Although I read the weekly tips avidly I have only just heard of the Warm Home Discount for disabled and others through a carers organization.
A search of the site says it was in the weekly tips 4th Jan but I still can't find it so I'm sure lots of other people have missed it too!
Would you be very kind and give it a seperate heading in next weeks letter and outline some of the details please?
As I understand it people who are on pension credit and who qualify for Warm Homes Discount and whose electricity provider is part of the scheme, will receive a credit of £120 to their electric account automatically.
However, others who are disabled and not on pension credit but receive 2 of the relevant benefits, (eg income related ESA plus DLA) can also get £120 credit BUT THEY HAVE TO APPLY.
I hope I have these details right but people should certainly go to their energy company and ask about Warm Home Discount (Support Plus).
As the scheme was launched 9 months ago it is certainly urgent to do this ASAP.
I hope you will let everyone know loud and clear as you usually do. Thanks Martin and Team for your brilliant work. XXXX:beer:

If you go to the 'search this forum' button and enter the phrase 'warm home discount' you'll find lots of threads on the subject including this one that's been running since last summer.
- hope this helps, and its always worth mentioning again and again and again for those who can benefit.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. That's good but I'm concerned that if people haven't heard of it ALREADY, and don't know what to search FOR, they may never know it's available.
Has it perhaps been publicised widely on TV? - I don't have one myself.0
