Am I the only person whose Debenhams / Santander storecards are going missing?

Every time Debenhams send me a new storecard, someone is swiping it from somewhere in the postal system, and having a lovely spending spree. First Direct credit cards have reached me successfully in the meantime. I don't live in a flat, and there is no particular reason to think that it is a local problem.

So, the question is, has anyone else had this problem? Or has anyone recently received such a card with the envelope intact, so that I can see who the postal company is?

Debenhams Storecards aka Santander decided without telling me to send me a Gold Card (in December). Someone, somewhere intercepted it. They then spent nearly £1000 at Debenhams, Clapham, and I received a bill for it.
This took a lot of hassle to sort out, as I was unaware of the newly posted gold card, still in possession of a bog-standard purple card. Eventually it was sorted. Account credited. All resolved.
Except.
They sent me out a second gold card to replace the missing one. It never reached me. This month's statement has a further £1100 of spending on it, this time at Debenhams, Westfield.
In the mean time, a pair of first direct replacement credit cards reached me successfully, and there has been no other hint of problems with our post.

I'd be grateful for any feedback from anyone else of similar problems.

  • Well you'll need to inform Santander again and Action Fraud or the police. Ask Santander to send the next card to a Santander branch and you'll pick it up. I know they do this with Santander credit cards so they should be able to do it with the Debenhams cards aswell.#

Perhaps someone wanted the Debenhams Beauty reward points as well as the shopiing? (j/k)

Odd that both cards have gone missing and in both cases spend was around £1000 mark.
Can only be either you, someone from your house / flat or postman. If it was from the sorting office it would have been picked up as too many cards would have gone missing.
I hope police/card company check the CCTV.

Have they confirmed they still have your address on your account? ie it hasn't been changed by who ever intercepted the card?
