Buying a car from a garage-any come back?

Hi,

Bought a mini from a local garage at the end of October. It is a second car so hasn't been used a great deal, the window checked when bought but due to the weather very little.

When we bought the car there was a small rubber part missing off the roof which we pointed out and the bloke said he would look into, we got a call saying he expected £25 off us for a new one, we said no it should have been on when sold. Our fault as busy with work but we left it and it is still missing the rubber bit however not causing any problems.

A week ago the drivers electric window packed up and the passenger door will not stay open so i called the garage, he said no probs bring the warranty and he booked it in for today. So i take it over and leave it only to get a call saying that they want £150+ VAT to which i went mad and said it was only 2.5 months old, he didnt budge so i got the OH to call, he said he would do free labour and knock the VAT off to which OH said he gets his VAT back anyway so thanks but no thanks. I called to ask how long the passenger door would be and he has said he wants another £25 for that to be done despite telling my Oh the mechanics were working on it? ..i told him id'e be down to collect and wasn't impressed with him wasting my time.

I would have thought after such a short amount of time things like this should be fixed or are we wrong?
Thanks

Check out sale of goods act it applies to 2nd hand cars and I think within 1st 6 month of u buying it presumes there was a fault present when u purchased goods the seller is liable to pay for repairs might be worth looking at m c if it applies good luck

If the electric window has only just 'packed up', then by the O/Ps own admission the fault was not present at the time of sale?
