Insulating a garage door

If your bedroom's cold, what about insulating the garage ceiling rather than the door?A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove you don't need it.0

I'd put some draught-excluder around the edges and be done with it. This by itself will make a noticeable difference.
Unless you want to spend £££, it's going to be pointless trying to insulate the garage door, just to save a few pennies when the boiler fires up at 5C. If it ever does.0 -
The froststat will only stop the boiler from freezing it wont heat the whole house surely.
The amount of gas it uses will be tiny compared to trying to heat a whole garage with electric.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I think you'd be wasting your time. I have a sectional american insulated door and the only thing it does is keep the garage like an icebox after the weather warms up.
You would be better fixed boxing the boiler, assuming it's a modern balanced flue job, using studding.plasterboard and and polystyrene,I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
OK. OP was looking for suggestions on how to insulate a garage door, the videos gave some guidance. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I have a large radiator in my garage but it still gets cold. The door is very cold but insulation I think has helped but I wouldnt spend a lot of cash if other measures have been taken. I also insulated the roof too with rockwool and large plasterboard sheets and a plasterer finished it off. I just painted it now is a lot lighter but the walls are only single skinned so it will always be cold0

its all about cost v benefit.
this sort of thing is only really viable if you can get the materials cheap or free, and you diy it.
paying someone to insulate the whole garage properly will never give you any payback.
(or maybe 20-50 yrs).Get some gorm.0
