I use beaker shapred tupperware with screw lids for soup, more secure and easier to heat/hold as you can just hold the rim which stays quite cool.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

Parsnip and ginger soup sounds lovely! Is there any chance you'd be willing to post the recipe here?
Thanks in advance0 -
I've always used lock n lock pots and was feeling quite smug because mine never leaked. Must be something to do with karma - today was the day to get a dribble of chicken soup down the pot and on to the car seat:(.
Did buy some cheaper own make pots from Tesco that looked very like lock n lock, but they never seemed as water tight as the real thing so were a bit of a false economy

I used an asda beaker with a screw on lid but that tends to be full of wine dregs in the freezer now so I have taken to using a jam jar - though I have a doritos jar and will use that in future!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

At the mo we are using beakers with a screw top lid, 79p in home bargins. We got 6 so I portion the soup up after I make it and they are ready to grab from the fridge. the hold 3 ladels each with room to spare. No leakages and been using for a few weeks now.
The only downside is that the plastic discolours if the soup contains tomatoes...They are also useful for storing things like half tins of beans etc in the fridge
