Smarter use of CCs for a post grad student

in Credit cards
Hi
I'm a mature student doing 2 consecutive 1 year courses full time (change of career), currently part way through first year.
I am living off savings and redundancy money but am looking at ways to save/make money to help ease the strain on my finances. A couple of CC queries:
1) 0% credit card As I spend a lot of money on travel, one thing I've thought of is to get a 0% credit card and put all my spending on there - thus leaving my savings in the bank longer and thus gaining from more interest. Would make just the min payments each month.
Does anyone know if any of the current 0% deals are likely to accept me? Am worried about applying in case I get turned down and it impacts my credit score. I had a quick look at the M&S or Tesco ones and they seem to want employer details, hence my question for anyone in the know.
2) Stoozing with a new card is something else I've wondered about as a possibility. So similar question - any CC providers likely to give a new card to a student?
3) Stoozing with current cards I do have a couple of cards already which I could max out. Is stoozing still worth it with the intro of the fees? I could get about £8k I think from my existing cards.
My OH works but I don't want to go down the route of getting him to apply for a new card and then get him to add me on as an additional card holder. One of my cards is a cashback one, so am making some money back there already.
Thanks in advance for any wise words/suggestions!
