Road Tax 2012/13

I have a feeling it's a bit early for this, but does anyone have a link to information on how much road tax will go up the coming financial year, 2012/13 ?

My tax is due at the end of this month, and i'm trying to work out whether to pay for 12 months, or just pay for 6 and then see how much more 12 will be in July.

Money's a bit tight at the moment and I know 12 months makes financial sense, but would also be nice to separate tax from my MOT month (also January). It's a bit killer on my wallet straight after Christmas!

I'm band K by the way (6 months £143, 12 months £260)

Well its wont get any cheaper, So tax it for 12 months and you have saved money either way.

Pay extra to tax it for 6 instead of 12 and in July if its dearer its costs you even more? Doesnt make sense?

Unless it was a low emission group that maybe cheaper, But not band K.

It will be the same or more. Tax for 12 before the price goes up.

A few years back i taxed mine on the night of the budget as they had put it up, Luckily it worked as it was slightly
before the 15 days allowed back then.

If you want to split tax and MOT, just get another MOT in (say) July.

Much more pleasant Gun-Gumming an exhaust in July. :D

Hadn't considered this and sounds like a much cheaper option, thank you.

Last year, 2011/12, road tax went up by inflation only. Was still an extra £15 on my band though!

Fingers crossed for the same this year.

The Budget will be delivered on March 21, 2012

with vehicle tax changing from April 1st 2012

To those of you who renew in April...
If you get in quick you can buy a 12 month badge beginning from April 1st for 12 months on the current rates if you buy it before expiry, if you leave it till after expiry you will pay the new rate.
