PPI Charges, which company to use or go it alone?

I was going to go about this by myself a number of months ago, and issued a letter to my CC company using the template on this site requesting T&C's at the time of my credit agreement.

I stupidly forgot to sign the paperwork, they (Capital one) did reply asking for me to confirm my signature and to send £5/£10 for said information, but i have never got round to doing it, I'm at the point now where I am considering just arranging for a company to do the work for me.

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a company to use who's fee's are not that high.

Or if I decided to do it alone what do I do next once I receive the above info from capital one?

any advice would be appreciated.

You wont find any recommendations from here. Why pay to use a company that uses the same free of charge complaints process using template letters you can download for yourself and if anything have a lower success rate than a personalised complaint. Its a lot of money to pay a company to put a stamp on an envelope.

Why do you need that information? Why cant you just put a complaint in?

How do i go about that? without sounding simple. I was under the impression i had taken the first steps to making a complaint i.e asking said company for a copy of T&C's from when i took out my Credit Agreement.

simply asking for a copy of your credit agreement T&Cs doesnt constitute a complaint. Its what you find in the T&Cs/agreement that might trigger you to make the complaint
  • at the time of taking out the CC i was out of a trust deed for about 1/2 years so the CC came with a high interest rate and it had a £500 credit limit, now if i had lost my job, I would have easily managed to pay off the CC and so in my mind would not have wanted PPI or even required it for that matter, I do believe it was pretty much forced upon me and that it was a must for me to take PPI out for me to qualify for the CC due to my credit history!

well you can only try!!!! but do it yourself. I have 'won' about £9000 from PPI reclaims from three different loans. All it took was 3 letters, three envelopes and three stamps. I would have been gutted if out of that 9k, I had only seen £6000 because of fees to reclaims companies, who basically had done jack (apart from take template letters off this website...allegedly...hahaha)
  • Good for you 'the swerve'; I'm guessing the templates are still available on this site to use to claim back PPI charges?
