Replacement bathroom

Hi guys,

I'd could do with some of your wisdom on whether the quotes I've had for bathroom refit are reasonable.

List of work is as follows:

- Remove and dispose of existing bathroom and floor to ceiling tiles
- Replaster walls and celing
- Reseal around window + fit window sill
- Supply and fit extractor fan
- Supply and fit towel rail
- Remove airing cupboard wall and door (currently eats into bathroom space)
- Fill in wall and plaster
- Install bathroom suite + shower
- Tile shower cubicle + low level round bath and sink
- Tile floor + bath

Room is approx 2.5 X 2.5 metres (or will be when the cupboard is removed).

I've had 3 quotes so far, one for 2.5k, one for 3.5k, and one for 4.5k.
The 4.5 is way out of question, and the 2.5k guys didn't seem very interested, so currently 3.5 has it. However, this a *lot* of cash for a small house.

I will source the following:

Bathroom suite - Nabis Breeze - £225 (Plumb Center)
Duchy Portloe Quadrant Enclosure + tray - £300 (Heat and Plumb)
Newteam Mixer Shower 902-T - £150 (Heat and Plumb)
Ideal Standard Silver taps - £370 (Heat and Plumb)
Tiles - approx £300 (Ceramic Tile co)

If anyone has any better recommendations in the Wycombe area, please let me know.

Cheers,

Chris

I can't recommend anyone in your area but I think £3.5k to £4.5 is about right if not on the cheap side. Depends how much tiling mainly and how easy it is to fit into the existing.

Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

  • Thanks for the response Bob. It's a fair bit of tiling, a full shower enclosure, 3sq meters on the floor, the bath panel and then about 40cm high round the bath and sink.
Plus the floor needs to be overlaid with a thick ply as the existing chipboard can't take it.

    Cheers,

    Chris
