Egg card fee for a credit transfer

Hi. Some where on this site Martin said that you could make money from credit cards by getting an interest free card & transfering the ballance to Egg & then transfering that credit to your bank.
Well I did. I transfered £1500 into my Egg & then transfered it to my bank.I have just received a ballance transfer fee of £37.50 from Egg. So much for this scheme working.

You are using the wrong card. Egg Money allows fee free transfers, Egg Green does not.

The Egg Card, or Egg Green, does allow fee-free transfers - but not during an introductory, anniversary, or other special promotion period.

It's not confusing at all, if you read the T&C's...

That would be usual on the principle that you weren't informed of a 'special promotion' pending on the account when you did your own transfer (banks often state they will notify you whenever a BT fee does apply) So this could be a general way of getting a fee-free transfer out of Egg (Of course it only works once a month!)

They also said to contact them in future to arrange a fee free transfer.I usualy do this with other cards & they send a cheque but Egg seem to want to keep the customer happy unlike other cards.
