Hello there,
This is an urgent warning for anyone who may have bought a nano style (Absolutely nothing to do with official apple products-does not apply) mp3 mp4 player either on holidays or on an auction site where they sell by the thousands. The mains charger used by a great number of these units is totally unsafe, and should not be used under any circumstances. It may be ok (my personal opinion) only to charge the player though the usb on the pc, but please please do not try to charge it through the mains.
I bought one of these mp4 while on holiday in 06, and the charger looks a bit flimsy but stupid me kept on using it, (just a number of times) until a few days when I heard a low noise from the charger and the smell of something burning. The charger had burnt itself out. When I put the model no of the charger into google this warning from the EU came up
http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/dyna/rapex/create_rapex.cfm?rx_id=83
It is my belief that they are thousands of these chargers being used in the country mainly because people like me and others want to get a dead cheap bargain either on an auction site or on holiday, but be warned that is how you could end up ...DEAD from electricial shock!!. I dont wish to scare anyone but I thought better to pass on my experience.
Thanks
Joe
