Air Asia have released flights from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Sydney, Australia
Just done a random search for Wed 19th September and the flight from KL to Sydney is coming up at £63 including taxes and charges (excluding baggage)
No food is included. However you could always eat before the flight.
Fantastic bargain for anyone who is planning on visiting the KL/Bangkok/Singapore area.
I recommend you try searching other dates. I have just used Wed 19th September as a random date because the Air Asia website is really slow at the minute. Flights may be more/less for other dates!
Important Note: Sydney to Kuala Lumpur starts at around £200ish ...Hopefully the KL to SYD for £60 route may be useful for someone though :-)

Air Asia are pulling out of the London and Paris to KL routes.

Post edited. Yep, just seen this too! That's sad. I've used Air Asia various times for flights within Asia and they are a fantastic airline.0 -

I've used Air Asia for flights within SE Asia loads of times and for flights of 1-2 hours they really cannot be beaten (I don't think I have ever paid more than £50 for a flight, often less than a tenner) and they really could teach the likes of Ryanair how to run a low cost regional airline. I had never tried their long haul services as on longer flights I do like my extra comforts.
Air AsiaX's failure on the Paris and London routes just shows how hard it is to make a low cost long haul service work.0 -

I was considering using them for my flight out to australia in march however decided against it considering the bad reviews of their long haul flights. Im still considering using them for my return journey to save some more money, so would you recommend them for long haul or are they just useful for shorter flights?0 -

We've used Air Asia MANY times and Air Asia X (The long haul bit) several times including OZ 3 times. If you get the good deals they are unbeatable.
KL to OZ for £130 ish return all in, what more could you want. For that money I'd put my arms out of the window and flap like a bird.
Actually they are very good, a budget airline like it should be, such a pity they are stopping the London flights.0 -

Thanks for your help. Although my problem was that the flights comparable to those offered by air asia were at a similar price to non budget airlines. I decided to choose against going with air asia. Had the flights been as cheap as the one mentioned here i definitely would have gone with them. However as i mentioned i think ill go with them if they are still flying back to london. Do you know when they plan to stop these flights?0 -
I love Air Asia...fantastic in all areas of SE Asia. Even former Stn was ace. Now Lgw is cool too. Shame it finishing. I got lucky...out on 23 Jan to Kul back on 26 Mar for £250 return. Uniforms are ace...and they fly on A340...huge magnifico beasts...and the cust serv is on par with many sched airlines. SE Asian are amazing. Never been late yet on over 30 flights.0
