HSBC Credit Cards

Hi, just wondering if someone can help me. I have just successfly claimed for PPI off a MBNA credit card I had and hadn't realised I had been paying PPI until someone mentioned I should check - and low and behold my last PPI was last Feb - as I managed to see a statement on line.

My question is I also had a HSBC credit card which I have just paid off and cancelled and do not have any statements as they were all on line. I did look at the last years ones' before it was cancelled and did not notice any PPI coming out. Saying that, I have no idea if any PPI was taken out prior to this.

I have had the HSBC cc for well over 10 years and I notice on their website they say they stopped PPI from all accounts from 2007 - my question is how can I find out if I was paying anything prior to this?

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi and welcome

You could contact them, as long as you have the account number they should check this for you.

However, another way just to be sure, you could optionally request for a Subject Access request (SAR) where they should send everything they hold on your account by 40 calendar days, you enclose the one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order, template letter below if you want to do this, then take it from there, good luck.
