  • Churchill and Direct Line have just been fined for dodgyness. Like forging signatures and stuff. I wouldn't be surprised at their attitude on the phone.

I think DL/Churchill have had a major management makeover and they are now in the do not touch with a bargepole category. The fine they have slapped on them is for fraud and forgery, but they seem to have bought themselves out of the headlines.
Even the original marketing masterstrokes seem misunderstood by the current management (the animated phone/dog get attention and interest but don't need the expensive actors!).
Looks like a desperate company throwing fortunes at its public face while acting distinctly dodgey when they have the sniff of customer cash.

For me Churchill were put into the barge pole category back in 2004 after they refused to handle a claim for me, where someone had driven into the back of me, accepted full liability and had insurance. They claimed I'd given them incorrect information about my car and let it sat rusting in a garage for three months while they looked for the recordings of the phone calls I'd had with them, only to then admit that actually I did tell them everything correctly.

The problem: I was driving a car which had never been sold in the UK or Europe and they claimed I didn't tell them it was an import, despite the fact that the drop down box on their website has (import) next to it when you select that model.

What you're all forgetting is that ChurchKill and Direct Liars are all from the RBS group.

RBS = Fred the Shred = Don't give a damn about anyone but himself, screw the economy, the nation, the staff, look after himself only.
