Thurs 19th Jan - What small DFW things will you be doing?!

Posts: 3,731 Forumite
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free:D
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:
Gooood morning everyone:j
Thought I'd get us going...better be quick though, running late myself:)
List for today:

Morning gang :wave: thanks for starting us off pixie!
Perni just thinking, when I have loads to do - and would be getting myself stressed and in a pickle - I try to par things down and focus on priorities. Looking through my diary and seeing what are my "must dos" for today, tomorrow, next week, month etc. I think when I am under pressure its really important to be extra kind to myself x
ziggy well done of your weight loss! You must be really noticing a difference now!
Jonno enjoy ur cheeky lunchtime class
Listypops for today:
* [STRIKE]check banking x 2 [/STRIKE]- no change. Don't want to wish my life away but am desperate to check it tomorrow (payday) and know what I have for the next month. Am afraid its gonna be bleak - I think if I have 3/4 of my usual salary I'll be ok...
* [STRIKE]washing in at 30[/STRIKE]
* brekkie, lunch & dinner from stores
* check tyre pressure & clean car
* [STRIKE]wrap & post ebay return. [/STRIKE]Had a result yesterday as Ebay has sent me a freepost sticker so I don't need to pay to return it for my refund :T That's £7 in my pocket
* [STRIKE]visit ex-mil this afternoon[/STRIKE] got given a packet of doritos! mmmmm
* [STRIKE]go to furniture recycling warehouse & see if the tub of white paint is worth having - called yesterday & he said they have about 1/2 a pot. Only have a small bathroom so will see. Might actually pop to the recycling centre (tip) and see if they'll let me have a couple of pots for a couple of quid
[/STRIKE] [COLOR="rgb(255, 0, 255)"]no joy sadly. Next step is hope that someone replies to my freecycle request & oh is going to ask his dad if he has any
[/COLOR]
* [STRIKE]recycling places on the way to mil's
[/STRIKE]
* check for surveys - haven't done this for ages!
* go for a run & a sauna
ok think that's me for today. Philosophy of the day is "making each day count" - going to try to see what the day brings me & make the most out of it :T Happy Thursday guys xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi everyone,
I popped in a few months ago with all good intentions to stay and achieve! One thing led to another and I went Awol but managed to update diary when possible.
There is so much I need to do and should do and with a high amount of debt lingering, and a very cluttered house, I want to change and make the most of everyday.
I am very lost and nervous but am hoping 2012 is a different year.
So here goes for the list:
- List few items on ebay! (I have just had my limit increased so am a little excited and will be listing as much as I can) - 16 items and still more to go!
- meals from stores - lunch and dinner is out of the freezer, may make some biscuits at same time!
- I want to go to the poundshop but it will a very limited spend and on things which will be money saving in the end! (they have their gardening bits in and am looking to set up my own veg and fruit pots) - going to wait till tomorrow now
- small amount of ironing (to keep on top of it and save me from a)spending hours ironing and b) keep areas decluttered so can see what I can sell)
- keep heating down - my fingers are cold but thats all, no need for the heating yet
- check for surveys
- free bingo to work towards amazon or Mr T vouchers
- Freecycle - see if anyone is giving away storage for garden and house
I think thats ok for now, lets see how much I do, its a new me!
