Unfortunately none of them are marked anywhere. The newer box shaped should/maybe, seems like I will have to buy one to find out.
I've got one of the box shaped ones (at least I'm assuming that's what it is, because it doesn't look like a cross)

I just tried it out with my Maxell 12 Gb mini portable HD, it seems to work fine, it loads the software no bother & you can explore the device
however, windows throws up a load of warnings about not getting the best from it as it's not attached to a high-speed USB port

anway, it does look as if it will work with USB 2, but it might slow things down a bit

Thanks for that, saved me a trip.
Yours, (blue one?) is USB 1 then, since you get the warnings about your device could work faster. (i.e. if you had a USB2 hub). Booger, I was hoping they had upped the spec with the shape change, ah well here's to the next model.

PS USB is backwards compatible with earlier versions.

Can confirm the blue 4 block one is only usb1.O

The USB extendable extension cable (thin cable on a reel) doesn't want to play ball either but I just think its faulty but the 2 adapters it comes with are worth a quid anyway.

Th SD card readers that are bell shaped are also SDHC capable as well as the white stick ones.
If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
