  • Went into my local branch today & got some really good 2008 diaries, plus stocked up on my usual TicTacs (4 packs for £1). Also got some Nescafe cappuccinos - 8 cups in the pack, with an expiry date of 2009, so there's plenty of time to drink them. :)

    Nah.
Bike lights ... bought at least 5 packs last Xmas, they all broke at the bracket, so are unusable. Shop refused to refund, and made a huge fuss about replacing them.
Plastic lawn edging ... disintegrated into a million pieces after less than a year. I'll be picking up shards of plastic until the next millenium.
Sticky tape ... rips up the middle of the roll.

I just hate the shop. Aisles are too narrow, there's no room to queue at the tills, and the staff are unhelpful, and armies of pushchairs park inside the doorway for long chats so you can't get in or not. Life's too short, it's not worth shopping at P*undl*nd
Look on the positive side – going to Poundland gets you out of your “damp cold draughty flat”. Every cloud has a silver lining. :)
  • Just a heads-up, we've been told we can only sell 3 packs of painkillers per person now instead of the six we could before. Had a woman in arguing with me yesterday that she bought six the last time she was in so why couldn't she have six today?

We have hundreds of boxes of kids modelling clay with one of the machines that makes it different shapes in atm, just came in the other day, looks great if you have young kids/grandkids.

The kids fluffy slippers in the fashion section are nice and warm, but they're small made (the size 4-6 is tight on me and I'm a size 4!).

Delivery comes in tomorrow so will be back with anything interesting!

For crafts and cardmaking - they have a set of 15 differnt sequins and pretty saprkly sticky on things. A great buy in themselves but what made me over the mooon was that they come in little round solid plastic tubs! The kind of thing you'd pay about £8 for in a craft shop for holding small quantites of sequins or seed beeds!
  • In Health and Beauty yesterday we got:

pack of eight hair dye removal wipes, the ones that take the dye off your skin.
Gold mini gift sets (vanilla), probably good to get a few for "last minute" presents
Box of bath salts which looks like it'd last for ages, with a scoop attached to the side.

Got my little girl a cute Winnie the Pooh Disney umbrella, ideal xmas pressie . So worth keeping an eye out for this was on a stand with the rest of the brollys
    Booo!!!
  • This may have been mentioned before, but they currently have lots of socks - The Simpsons (Adult and child size), Betty Boop, Winnie the Pooh etc. I know socks are a bit boring, but I thought they'd do as stocking fillers.
In health and beauty they had Sunsilk shampoos and conditioners - the one's for red, blonde, brunette etc - some of writing in arabic though!
Also lots of Winnie the Pooh baby stuff - Dummies (the ones with the clips to stop them getting lost), bibs with removeable spill tray (if that's the right description!) and rubber teether thing on the corner, bottles, brush and comb sets etc.. great pressies if you know anyone who's expecting.
  • they had these solar powered flower cubes in leigh lancashire

The wax strips are the biz!!! I thought what have I got to lose buying one pack? I love them! They do EXACTLY what you want them to with no mess. I now buy a couple of packs whenever I am in to stock up. I used to get my 'bits n bobs' done at a salon but not now.
The world is full of Pink Fluffy Clouds......you just need to open your eyes to see them:)

  • Baby and kids's toiletries today:

New kids soap & stuff - blueberry and strawberry Disney Princesses, huge bottle of J&J handwash (some has been stashed through the back for the staff), Superman bath foam (kinda smells like sweets), and Matey!

Other kids' stuff - Boobah bye bye boo boo ice packs (like the Batman ones).
The Superman bath paints are selling FAST! Put a whole box out yesterday and it disappeared before closing.
