Pls help me set-up home office PC

I want to set up my own office at home. I need to know what I need to do to link 2 PCs (so they can share data) and also so that they can both access the internet and print.

I have NTL modem broadband on one machine but not sure how to link both together. Is anybody able to advise please?

Also, I was told that it's probably cheaper to use fax software on a PC rather than buy a separate fax machine - can anyone assist on recommending any software pls?

You need a network card in both machines connected together with a network cross over cable.

Then set up ICS in Windows with the machine that has the modem in it.

Both machines need to be running XP or you will find it difficult to set up.

Fax software is inclued with XP but not installed as standard. Look on XP disk and you will find it.

If you have no computer experience it could be difficult.
