When do you officially stop being a student?

When you've finished your course, handed in all your work, finished lectures etc. when do you officially stop being a student? When you get your marks back? When you attend the graduation ceremony? When you take a bath and take down the cider can pyramid?

I'm in my final year and would like to do some training things this summer that are only available to students or are subsidised for students (phew, just made this a money saving post!), but will I officially still be one? Does it differ from uni to uni?

i finish all essays teaching and exams in april. but officially i finish june 8th. there is usually a general cut off point that is normally the end of the summer term. after that you lose student status.

    check with your department.

  • I'm a final year student too, and my student id doesn't expire until September this year if that helps? Otherwise I have no idea.

The date you leave. For the vast majority of full-timers this will be around June time.
