Sending parcels overseas

Hi, I'm setting up a scheme whereby my workplace send unwanted children's books to schools in Zambia. Parcel Force will cost over £100 for a 10KG parcel, surely there must be another company that's cheaper, or special rates for books?

I'd be grateful for any info - thanks!

£14.36 for £2kg of printed material. It would probably be worth phoning up Royal Mail and a few couriers and ask their experts what they suggest. You might be able to get international furniture removal companies to sort out a special rate if they have some spare space in their container. Could you also call up other charities or "piggy back" on their shipments if they are already sending aid to that country?

HI, thanks for your reply. I think Royal Mail/Parcel Force are just going to be too expensive. I'll def be contacting some charities etc though to see if we can combine shipments - excellent idea, thanks!

My wife has used Seven Seas freight before to send parcels to South Africa. Try Google to get their telephone number and give them a call. I am sure they'll ship to Zambia too. A credit to you, for what you are doing.
