Anyone else with a Scottish Power Unifi system?

Hi all,
I went for the above with their capped price energy offer as I liked the idea of being able to control devices remotely and check usage online.
I have had issues with it keep losing communication though, they sent me a replacement but it's still the same. No matter where in my relatively small house I put it it constantly loses signal. I had an OWL energy monitor before and that never lost signal.
It's frustrating as it's not doing the job it's supposed to and gives inaccurate readings for my usage too. The signal icons keep flashing all the time because they can't communicate with the sensor or other devices even if at the front of the house only a couple of metres from the sensor in the outside cupboard. I've had nice responses from the support people about it and they have been very helpful but wondered if anyone else had similar issues as I'm wondering about going back to Scottish Power and asking to change to a tariff with boiler cover or something instead as the 'perk' for my existing tariff isn't very good...

  • Exactly the same here mate, in the last year i have had two of these units, both units apparently tested perfect whilst onsite at the supplier. Unfortunately they dont work in my house, was beginning to feel like i was the only one having this problem.

I have also had the Owl energy monitor as well as a Wattson, both of which worked seemlessly.

It sounded like a real good deal getting this monitor, but to be honest its a complete waste of time.

Have you heard anything of late? or had the situation rectified?

Hi roblynes, glad to hear it's not me being awkward and it does seem like these units are quite unstable compared to the Owl monitor in my experience. I've just put up with it as the last response from them was that there was nothing more they can do. It was really ridiculous as I have a small house and the equipment is quite close together and I have tried moving them all closer together and still the same. Like you say, a complete waste of time! The support was nice and friendly but never concluded with anything. They did suggest overheating being the problem. Mine is on the end of the mantelpiece now and doesn't seem to disconnect too often so maybe not having the fire on now might help it. Whereabouts are all your units located?
