Hi,
Im having a problem with my electric cooker and need help before i phone an electrician as i have no idea what to say to them.
Basically my problem is the switch on the wall for my cooker is blowing the whole flat fuse box.
The switch is blowing before ive even turned the cooker on, can anyone take a guess as to whether this is the cooker or the switch???
Thanks in advance....

Sounds like the switch is the problem.Possible loose wire.0

you need to advise if it is a fuse (wire inside) blowing, an MCB (flick switch) or an RCD (which has a test button on)
Have you recently had any work done in the house? Anything at all?
I'd bet on wiring fault in the switch or a damaged cable somewhere in the circuit.
Even if you dont turn the cooker on electricity will still flow through your switch up to the cooker and any fault will still be detected0 -

Thank you all for your replies,
When my husband got home we did a test to see if it was the plug socket.
As we live in a flat its easier if one does the test and one is at the fuse box.
We flicked the switch and turned the cooker on and it all worked fine.
We are having major issues with damp at the moment so i think it may have been that.
We are going to add it to the list of things wrong with this flat since we've moved in.
Thanks again0
