Well done , that would be my dream prize. I have been on holiday there (not a win) and it was the best place I have ever been. The tour buses are good value and will take you everywhere to see all the sights. Buy tickets when you get there either from your hotel or from the many stops around the city. The night tour to see the skyline is amazing and looking across the river from Brooklyn at night is awesome.For shopping Maceys is worth a visit and it reasonably priced (depending on exchange rate) and they sometimes offer discounts for overseas customers.
There are plenty of reasonaly priced diners around and they offer extensive menus of freshly cooked breakfasts pizzas burgers etc. Have a great time and enjoy every minute.Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0 -

Congrats on the win.
I won five nights to NY in 2008.You'll love it.We stayed in The Westin,Times Square & for some reason got an upgrade to the 43rd floor.
I got lots of ideas & tips from here.
Some of the things we did incuded Top of the Rock,Staten Island Ferry,9/11 site,Day bus tour,
Regarding eating out you'll be staggered at the choice.
Breakfast wise we just used the street diners.All great quality,fast & good value.Evening meals we tended to eat eaarly as we had a young child with us.Lots of places offer meal deals before seven o'clockJust google "new york prix de fixe menu"

I went many moons ago for New Year ('92) and it was magical.
Take warm clothes as when I was there, although a blue, blue sky....boy it was cold!!
