Windscreen washers bunged up

My windscreen washers seem to be getting bunged up (Y reg Corsa) Is there any easy way of clearing them without removing all the piping, they still work at the moment but the jets are very weak.

I get a hose and clean out the water bottle, then with a bit of copper wire I shove that down the jets like a pipe cleaner.
  • I have the same problem on my 2002 Vectra and it tends to be gunk within the washer bottle. In order to get them working again, you need to get at the washer bottle and if possible remove it and give it a good clean. There is a rubber gromit/filter that sits between the bottle an the pump, this is where the blockage is likely to be and needs a clean - but best clean the hole bottle to ensure non is left at the bottom to clog again. Suggest from now on using half decent Screewash - someone advised me to use a touch of washing up liquid - big mistake, prime cause of my blockage - hope this helps

The only way I've found to clear them effectively is to remove them from the car. I don't know about yours, but with mine you just pull off the pipes and unclip them from the bonnet. Then you can clear them effectively. The trouble with poking wire etc. down them is that you push the blockage back into the system, and after a few more uses it makes its way back.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
