I want to say a big thank you to L&C mortgages ltd. and, of course, money saving experts for helping me with my 1st mortgage.
Ive just viewed a property that i wanted but had no idea what type of motgage to go for. (and not much help from parents, mum told me to go for a fixed, as the interest rate went up and down in line with bank lol bless her).
This is where the remortgage guide helped greatly(and also scanning the threads)...now i know a little bit about different types and what to look out for. I still rang L&C as i wasnt quite sure which one was best. The person on the other end (simon) was very polite and helpful and he guided me to what type of deal suited me best.
ive managed to get a loan @ 5.19%apr for the 1st 2 yrs (after that im going to remortgage to get another good deal).
A big thank you to Martin, L&C and all the people on this forum. I doubt i would have got a good mortgage without you.

Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

I also like to echo your views. I am a foreign citizen and had no credit record whatsoever. I also changed house three times in 2 years, and had a new job for only 2 months. So when I wanted a mortgage, my local brokers, moneyfacts and a few others could not find me a competetive one. I spoke to Ryan in L&C, he understood the problem and first spoke to the underwriters to confirm that my mortgage application with A&L (which is exactly the product I wanted) will be accepted. I spoke to him over phone for hours altogether, often after 6pm when he is meant to be off! I did not have to look anywhere else and got everything sorted in a couple of weeks. Now I am a proud owner of a home, thanks to L&C. I wholehearedly recommend them.0
