Asda/Santander credit card

I had my new credit card last week, it states to phone to activate it & to carry on using my existing pin.

I phoned to activate it:

* Voice recognition does not recognise my black country accent (?)

* type the account number on the key pad - thats not recognised either.

* check my old card & new card - both the same card number.

* Call again & get through to a human after 10 minutes. She says she can't activate it as there seems to be a problem. Puts me through to customer services, its self service & does not recognise card number, cuts me off.

*Call again, card number still not recognised but get through to another human. He says he cant understand what first person meant as there did not seem to be a problem & says card is now activated.

*Two days later I try to use card, pin number is invalid.

* Call card services again. Person says pin number is locked & I have to go to cash machine to unlock it. I argue with this as surely I need a valid pin number to unlock it? He says just to use my old pin number. I cannot get it through to him that pin number is not working but he is adamant this will work. It doesnt.

* Call card services again. we have trouble understanding each other & he cuts me off.

* I call card services again, does not recognise card number, transfers me to another menu & cuts me off again.

* Call card services again. Person agrees that trying to unlock it wouldnt have worked & says that pin number & card obviously are mis-matched. She will send another card & pin number out. This will take 10 days.

I think I may be cancelling this particular account.:mad:
