If the email looked dodgy, why did you click on the link?

I've been getting these recently, but I've never been a Very customer. I also get emails supposedly from banks, BT, HM Revenue & Customs, and numerous other organisations. They are all dodgy.

If you are using an email application, rather than webmail, you should be able to see where the link goes to just my hovering the cursor over it, but not clicking. Check the status bar. If it isn't the organisation it should be, then the email is bogus. Or else it is one of the really annoying companies who use a marketing company to send out their emails, and the link goes to the marketing company.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Hi,

We are sorry to hear that you have received email spam purporting to be from us.

If you still have the email you can forward this to our Customer Security team at CustomerSecurity@shopdirect.com who would be happy to look into this further. If they receive the email directly from yourself they may well be able to trace the source of the emails and prevent any more from being sent to you.

Hope this helps.

I am the official company representative of Very.co.uk. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"
• it's a quite simple scam, they will send you an invoice which pretends to be an escrow service ran by Google Checkout or Paypal or something and it will say that you need to transfer money to a specific bank account.

The invoice will be a fake and the money won't be going to companies which are mentioned in the fake invoice headers, it's some mule's bank account.

Once you transfer the money it's gone.

You should report the email the used to contact you to FBI and http://emailbusters.org
