I have a car that i bought for £100 from a friend for my younger brother to learn to drive, few months mot and tax full tank of diesel. good runner just not the prettiest in the world as rust and scuffs etc
My brother isnt intersted with it, and rather than have a chew on selling it, I wondered how much I would get just for scraping it ? its a diesel astra

more than you paid for it even if you don't reclaim the value of the tax & fuel0

if its got the izuzu (think thats how you spell it) engine and not the vauxhall one you will probably get a bit more on ebay0

At a guess, 150 quid.
Chop the tax in, syphon the tank. Bargain. Or as said, low start on eFence might bring the same but without the hassle

If it's old, around £80-£100 they can pick up if it's not running. Just doing some research, worth shopping around and make sure you sort out the paperwork as you could be liable if they get it on the road again.0

Just phone around a few scrap dealers and see how much they'll offer for it. You would be surprised at how much the prices differ.
Don't forget that you can claim back road tax on any whole months which you don't have the car for. And what ever you do, make sure you send off the paperwork to the DVLA so they know you have got rid of the car. I've heard too many horror stories from people who have have forgotten (or assumed the other party is responsible for it) and ended up with hefty fines and debt collectors on their backs. In fact, when you send off to the DVLA make sure you send it from the post office and get proof of postage.0
