JSA after being released from contract

As you may have seen, have just posted about my rights re being released from my contract following substandard performance during probation.
Essentially, my reason for leaving will be "released after probation due to not meetign the required standard of performance." My questions are:
1. Will I be able to claim JSA until I get a new job?
2. If yes to 1., what date could I claim from, bearing in mind that it is likely that I will be released on 19th January and will be paid the statutory 1 week's notice? Do you think it'll be the 19th or 26th?

You can claim but as you've been sacked they can sanction your claim for up to 26 weeks0
